Wedding Fridays | Vendors & Updates
I am back! Sorry for the major gap in posting this past month. I was super busy at work, with Janine Rae Design and I honestly didn’t do a whole lot of wedding planning. I did book our florist and am very excited about that decision although I had to leave the table flowers out of the contact because they weren’t within our budget. But have no fear, my plan is to go to the farmer’s market the week before our wedding and purchase a lot of wild flowers and dahlias similar to the bouquet I purchase last October. For those wondering which florist we chose, it was The English Garden in Raleigh. Cydney, the owner, was beyond sweet and really got excited about my vision. I fully believe that she will go above and beyond for our wedding because you can tell she truly loves what she does. It was very refreshing compared to another florist I met with that was quite rude when I told him my budget. I will stay classy and not mention names. :)
Another vendor that we booked was the transportation for our guests. This was something that was completely unnecessary and we probably could have saved the money to use elsewhere in the wedding budget. However, Craig and I love our family and friends and of course share their love for the adult beverages. :) So we wanted to provide this service to our guests to keep them all safe and also allow them to drink and have a good time. It kind of adds to the fun of the event too to have everyone ride over on the same minibus. I reached out to a few limo companies first to get quotes for minibuses and was pretty shocked at the prices. We expect about 60 or so out of town guests to stay at the hotel so a minibus would be the best method of transportation. My second attempt was to reach out to charter bus companies and to get quotes. Happy day, this was the golden ticket! The prices were much more in our price range. Therefore we went ahead and paid a deposit on a minibus to pick up our guests at the hotel one hour before the ceremony. The minibus will probably have to take two trips so the venue will have cold drinks on hand for those early guests. The bus will then bring everyone back to the hotel at the end of the night. A handful of our in town friends have mentioned getting a hotel room for the night so that they can truly enjoy themselves too. I think this is a wonderful idea and can’t wait to continue the party at the hotel with all our friends and family. I mean think about it: a $80 hotel room is a good deal when you compare it to the cost of a typical night out including a nice meal, drinks and cab ride home. Craig and I will ride on the minibus with everyone else so we do not need to book other forms of transportation for the day.
With the last of the vendors booked looks like I am on to the fun DIY details! Also, don’t worry: there won’t be a month gap in blog posts this time. I already have a new blog post loaded in the hopper for next week and it’s a good one… bridesmaids’ dresses updates and ties for the groomsmen! Less than 4 months!
