Wedding Fridays | Bridesmaid Dresses Update

2010 December 17

I wanted to provide an update on my search for bridesmaid dresses for my girls.  I have been searching every online clothing store and dress company that I can think of.  Unfortunately a lot of online retailers like J.Crew and Ann Taylor Loft only have their winter color bridesmaid dresses out currently.  I did get lucky and found a beautiful coral dress at Nordstrom.com and on sale for $80!  Loren and I purchased the dress on a whim and when it arrived it fit her perfectly and is just as beautiful in person.  Score!   With one dress down I began thinking about the colors I would like the other bridesmaids to wear.  My first thought was to have everyone in a different color from our wedding palette but feared that would look too rainbowie (hehe this fake word makes me laugh).  After this realization, I decided that I need to stick to one side of the spectrum and with Loren’s dress being the perfect coral color and having a fall wedding, my decision was pretty much made for me.  Phew, one less decision to make. ;)

So far this is what I am thinking in terms of colors for each girl:

Loren’s dress has a big ol’ check mark because we have purchased and decided on hers.  Yay!  The other dresses are simply place markers to represent the colors I like as they haven’t tried on or bought any of the dresses yet.  The dress for Brianna is beautiful and I wish I could put a big check next to it too.  Sadly, when I found the dress on jcrew.com her size was already sold out and two days later the dress was unavailable all together.  Bummer.  I love how this dress would pull together all the colors and give a subtle tie in to her being the flower girl.  The dress was from J.Crew’s spring/summer line so perhaps something similar will be available in a few months.  As for now the search continues and I will post updates as we make final decisions.
